In Greek mythology, Priam was the king of Troy during the Trojan War. He was the son of Laomedon and the father of Hector, Paris, and many other Trojan princes. He is best known for his role in Homer's epic poem "The Iliad," in which he plays a major role in the events leading up to and during the Trojan War. He was known for his wisdom and compassion, and in the Iliad, he was portrayed as a sympathetic figure, mourning the death of his sons and pleading with Achilles for the body of Hector. He was also known to be a brave king and a great leader.
